Winter has come
With snowfalls and frost
And my memory summons
The ones who I've lost
Now the night is descending
And the wind stops its roar
I wish you were here with me
On this desolate shore
When silence falls over
Your traces and graves
In honor and glory
I call up your names
In our countless battles
In our conquests and rides
With a sword and a spear
My brothers in arms
Again and again
I clearly recall
Screams of the wounded
Piercing the nightfall
And mournful dawn
Over shattered wasteland
Not many of you, brothers
Made it to the end
Those days are long gone
And you're so far away
But I still see in the clouds
Your battle-array
My fearless companions
My desperate guards
I know you can all hear me
My brothers in arms
Winter has come
Bringing sorrow and pain
And the angels are sleeping
'Till another doomsday
But I see our frayed standard
Flaunting high in the sky
And I hear through the ages
Our fierce battle cry
So here I am praying
Under whispering trees
Closing ranks of immortals
In my visions and dreams
You have all disappeared
In the ocean of stars
And I'll never forget you
My brothers in arms

What an ambitious album - and to think it’s a debut album too. Sojourner have found an excellent way to create atmospheric black metal with significant folk contributions. Truly epic stuff. Somehow they just keep getting better with each release too. If you like this you’ll love the rest of their discography. 8/10 RJ

When you enter the blue hell, you are frozen, unable to get out. That ability that this album has to catch you and not let you go is what I applaud the most about this band. One more life experience, but an ordinary experience, an atmospheric and depressing journey, difficult to forget. Frank Román
Even in its prettiest, most celestial moments, the South Dakota trio's sound feels dark and dense and deeply rooted. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 24, 2021
