The cradle is broken
The winds carry plague
And I dream of the fire
To take me away
Navigating by clouds
I ride all alone
Through the mountains and forests
On the road so long
Every step is immortal
Every drop of the rain
On my journey eternal
Falling over again
In grief and starvation
Every dream falls apart
This is my revelation
Of rebellious heart
Ashes lands on my traces
Thunder answers the call
I'm the only forgiven
The one left to fall
In the purple horizon
On the mountain peaks
I am but a shadow
The one never speaks
And the raindrops keep singing
Like a funeral bell
This is what they call freedom
This is what i call hell
In the world of stagnation
Disaster, decline
This is my revelation
Of thunderous mind
My life is forbidden
Every breath is a crime
And the future lays hidden
In the distance of time
So I follow the fallen
And pray the deceased
And the woods standing silent
Dissolved in the mist
In my blind desperation
Of the story untold
This is my revelation
Of the world I destroyed
In grief and starvation
Every dream falls apart
In the world of stagnation
Disaster, decline
In my blind desperation
Of the story untold
This is my revelation
Of the world I destroyed
On the path of damnation
All the bridges lay burned
This is my revelation
Of the world I destroyed

What an ambitious album - and to think it’s a debut album too. Sojourner have found an excellent way to create atmospheric black metal with significant folk contributions. Truly epic stuff. Somehow they just keep getting better with each release too. If you like this you’ll love the rest of their discography. 8/10 RJ

When you enter the blue hell, you are frozen, unable to get out. That ability that this album has to catch you and not let you go is what I applaud the most about this band. One more life experience, but an ordinary experience, an atmospheric and depressing journey, difficult to forget. Frank Román
Even in its prettiest, most celestial moments, the South Dakota trio's sound feels dark and dense and deeply rooted. Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 24, 2021
